Welcome

Welcome to the government of Kaldus. Since the nation is a monarchy, there is no congress, nor parliament. Instead, I will have a justice department that would re-codify laws in a manner that will allow the population to read, and be more precise on what needs to be done. While I could have probably gotten away with having a senate, what would happen to laws that I don’t agree with. As mentioned, there is no point in having my own nation if I can’t make decisions about my nation. Yes, I am sure one will be screaming the UK as an example of a monarchy that has a parliment, but that monarchy is what is considered as a limited monarchy, and the monarch has little to no real power in deciding how things are.

The nation will be divided into counties. Each county will have a council that will define local laws within the county. This council will be elected by the people of that county as long as they are citizens of 18 years or older. Anyone can run for county council, and this will give the local population some say in much of their day to day lives. In addition, judges with exception of the National Supreme Court will be voted into office. The National Supreme Court will be decided by me. However, national law will always trump local laws. Therefore, if I allow homosexual marriage, a county can not place in a law banning homosexual marriage.

All residents of age 6 or older will be required to have an ID card. This card will function as more than just ID, but also a key card, a fare card, a bank card, and so on. More information can be found at https://id.kaldus.org. Anyone under the age of 16 will be required to acquire a new card every 2 years, and those 16 or older – every 5 years. Those that aren’t carrying their card, and considered a suspect can be detained, and face a fine once they are discovered of whom they are. The fine will apply to the guardian if the arrested suspect is a minor.

The justice system will be clear and precise. There will be multiple levels of the courts that appeals can be sought for. Each county will have its own court system. In criminal court cases, there will be a jury of 10, and civil court cases, there will be no jury – instead, the judge will decide the verdict. Any defendant of a criminal case will be provided with the option of a defending lawyer if they can not afford one. Minor crimes, the defendant will likely be out of jail and going about their life until their hearing which they will be focused on that. Only the most serious of crimes should a judge not consider releasing them to the public.

Law enforcement will be performed by the Emergency Services Force within the National Guard. This means all police will be given the same level of training, and education with regards in interacting with the public. This will provide for equal training, and therefore a proven standard of behavior that is in line with an officer. All uniforms will as well be the same design, and features – therefore allowing someone to identify an officer no matter where in the nation they are located at. This will make it easier for those that might otherwise not know.

As mentioned, the population decides county council and judges. This is done on every year divisible by 4 (2028, 2032, 2036 and so on). Rather than going to a polling place, the citizen will be able to visit the government website, log in, and make their choices. Everyone that is 18 or older will have an account with the government site as this is the site the citizen signed up for when they acquired their GIN from their local HHS office. To log in, they will go to https://gov.ka/login.
